The recommended Sparklight approved modems appear below. With several certified modems for Sparklight internet services, three categories (DOCSIS 3.1, WiFi, and value) have determined the top modem picks.
WiFi ONE service (an advanced WiFi solution) requires a leased modem from Sparklight.
Read the Cable Modem Buying Guide to help you choose a modem. Do not forget to purchase your modem accessories.
Internet providers have begun removing some DOCSIS 3.0 modems from their networks. To maximize the years of use from a modem, it is strongly recommended to purchase a DOCSIS 3.1 device (the latest standard).

do I need a pass word on my new modem?
No, your modem does not need a password. If you are using a router you should setup a password, however. Here are instructions on How to Connect a New Modem with Sparklight if you need directions.
Are there any retailers that carry Sparklight compatible modems in Pocatello, ID?
If you have a Walmart or Best Buy in your area, they may have a compatible Sparklight modem for sale.
Stay safe, Clarence.
How can I use WiFi with a TM822 Modem? Inned the phone connection I assume
Hello John,
To use WiFi with the ARRIS TM822G you will need to connect a stand-alone WiFi router. You may view the Best Wireless Routers page for the best options.
What modem/router do you recommend using with Sparklight 1 gigabit internet service ? I was told the modem rental from them was 10.50 per month and after 3 months they raised the price to 12.50 per month and the 1 gigabit internet service is So so over priced and it’s Not a gigabit service you only get about 600 Mbps.
If you are only reaching 600 Mbps speed with your Gigabit service, it probably means your modem is not capable of reaching those speeds. The modem recommended to you is the ARRIS S33. At the time of writing, the device is on sale for only $155 on Amazon. The S33 is capable of 2.5 Gigabit speeds (whenever Sparklight eventually offers those speeds). It is a really good value if you you are looking to upgrade your modem. It is recommended to purchase a separate router, which the value-based TP-Link Archer A7 device will save you money over a high-end device.
If you are set on the ease of a combo unit, there are three (more expensive) choices: the NETGEAR C7800, the NETGEAR CAX30S or the NETGEAR CAX80.
I have been using a 2.0 modem for almost 15 years with Sparklight. i have telephone service also and would like to get a higher speed internet service, but can’t get 3.1 modem because not supported thru Sparklight according to list.
What list are you referring to? Sparklight certainly supports DOCSIS 3.1 modems. The first table above shows the supported DOCSIS 3.1 modems.
But you may be referring to needing a phone modem. If you still require a phone modem, you will need to rent that device from Sparklight. You are not allowed to use your own phone modem (see note above the last table on the page).
